Kai was born in November 2013 and found abandoned as an infant. He has been diagnosed with post-operative megacolon and post-operative right nephrectomy.

SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD RELEASED TO THE SHARED LIST

Kai had surgery for megacolon as an infant and his right kidney was removed in May 2016, with follow up surgery to close an abdominal opening in November 2016. He does not yet have control of his bowel movements.

Kai’s adoption report was written just before his 4th birthday and at that time he was living with a foster family and said to be bright, active, talkative and gregarious. He was fond of imitating, listening to music and singing. He could stand, walk, go up and down stairs, imitate drawing lines and shapes, and catch a ball. He was speaking in sentences, asking and answering questions, and could communicate normally with adults. Kai was able to dress and undress himself and wash his hands.
