Mindy

Mindy was born in September 2012 and has been diagnosed with a private special need. She received corrective surgery for congenital dislocation of a hip joint earlier this year, and doctors say she is making good progress in rehabilitation and movement therapy. She can walk slowly on her own and go up and down stairs holding onto a railing.

AGENCY DESIGNATED SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD

Mindy is said to be a gregarious, smiling, active and energetic child. Mindy doesn’t speak much and expresses herself with smiles, a nod or shake of her head, or in single syllables. Her orphanage attributes this to developmental delays and lack of any speech therapy. But she understands and responds to directions, is active, likes to play with other children, and enjoys electronic toys.

Mindy is close to her caregiver and loves to go outside with her to play. She is shown in her video walking and feeding herself and eating with gusto. She needs help dressing, is dressed as a girl in the orphanage, but has no preference about clothing. She doesn’t have bowel or bladder control.
