Roy

Roy was born in September 2012 and has been diagnosed with a private special need. He received corrective surgery for congenital dislocation of a hip joint earlier this year, and doctors say he is making good progress in rehabilitation and movement therapy. He can walk slowly on his own and go up and down stairs holding onto a railing.

SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD RELEASED TO THE SHARED LIST

Roy is said to be a gregarious, smiling, active and energetic child. He doesn’t speak much but expresses himself with smiles, a nod, shaking his head, or in single syllables. His orphanage attributes this to developmental delays and lack of any speech therapy, but he understands and responds to directions, is active, likes to play with other children, and enjoys electronic toys.

Roy is close to his caregiver and loves to go outside with her to play. He is shown in the video walking and feeding himself. He needs help dressing, is dressed as a girl in the orphanage, but has no preference about clothing.
