Isaac was born in February 2017 and found abandoned when he was about 6 months old. He has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome and may have mild congenital heart disease.

SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD

Isaac’s adoption report was written in August 2018 and he was said to be a sunny boy with a ready smile. He liked listening to music and could wave his body along with it. Although learning, he wasn’t standing or walking well yet, but could sit independently and crawl. He was able to feed himself and was a sound sleeper. He could pick up small objects, hold a pen to scribble and imitate drawing lines. He could turn pages of a book and move blocks in and out of a container.

He wasn’t yet speaking but could make early sounds, imitate words and laughed loudly. He could recognize people and would search for the source when his name was called. Isaac was cooperative with dressing and his favorite toys were toy cars.

APRIL 2019 UPDATE:

Isaac could stand with support but wasn’t yet walking independently. He could make “ba ba” sounds but he wasn’t making other sounds very well. His hearing hadn’t been testing but if someone calls his name he knows to turn his head and look.
