Hattie

Hattie was born February 2014 and found abandoned when she was around a month old. She has been diagnosed with a facial deformity and congenital deafness.

AGENCY DESIGNATED SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD

When she was 1-5 months old Hattie was fed milk slowly due to her facial deformity. She cried a lot at night and her nanny often cuddled her. By 4 months old her physical development had improved. Between 6-10 months she was described as lovely and had rich facial expressions frowning and smiling at times. She waved her arms and her fingers were flexible.

At the age of 11-16 months she was said to be smart and brave. She sat on a hobbyhorse and played happily. The nanny that cared for her found that Hattie wasn’t sensitive to sounds near her and she wouldn’t turn her head to look for the direction of sounds, such as a bell being rung by her ear. She had no reaction to a sudden scream or to music played while sleeping. A hearing test found she had hearing loss in both ears, Left 70DBNHL, Right 60DBNHL. She developed well and had a normal diet. Hattie was said to have an active and sweet personality, and her favorite toys were dolls.
