Harlow

Harlow was born in April 2013 and found abandoned when she was about a month old. She has congenital glaucoma, which means she is basically blind although she has some light sensation. There is hope that she will have vision with surgery.

SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD RELEASED TO THE SHARED LIST

Harlow has waited so long for treatment. Doctors say she is a candidate for corneal transplants, but before that can happen she needs immediate surgery to give her any chance to have vision when she is older. Harlow is available for international adoption, but her surgery cannot wait. Your donation in any amount will help offer this beautiful little girl her one chance at a future with sight.

Harlow is described as smiley and extroverted.  She is not walking yet but she can scoot around in a baby walker.  She’s babbling but is not saying many words.  Harlow can locate the directions of sounds and likes when people play with her.  She giggles when she is tickled and enjoys listening to music and playing with dolls.

It sounds like Harlow is in an orphanage that doesn’t have time to provide much stimulation or care. She likely spends her days confined to a crib with little attention or education opportunities.
