Charlie

Charlie was born in January 2013 and found abandoned when he was around 2 months old. He has been diagnosed with Down syndrome and congenital heart disease (PFO), but he has normal cardiac function and is otherwise healthy.

Charlie’s adoption file was completed when he was around 18 months old. He was described as being tenacious and determined. He would work at new skills until he had learned them – whether learning to balance or stealing crackers to share with the other children. Charlie was said to be adventurous and loved to explore. His caretakers reported that he was always curious about fresh things in life. He loved to play with toys and had a special affinity for trying on shoes.

 

Charlie was able to go up stairs, stand on one foot and undress himself. He enjoyed listening to music, playing with toys and imitating. His personality was said to be active and energetic and he had a ready smile.
