To help Elise with life skills, in October 2014 she was placed in a One Sky foster family and enrolled in a One Sky sponsored school called the Grandma program. Overall she has improved with her physical, psychological, emotional and intelligence development. When she first joined her foster family she was very shy and introverted so her foster parents took her out to play with other children, and her three foster siblings shared toys with her. Elise would clap her hands happily and babble at seeing the toys and her foster parents were happy to see her playing with her siblings. To help Elise learn to walk her foster parents would offer support and walk in the hall with her. With lots of encouragement she learned to walk on her own.

When Elise finishes school and hears her foster mom’s voice she will run out of the gate to hug her. Her teachers tease her that once her foster mom arrives she will not hug them anymore! At this she will blow them kisses while her foster mom and teachers laugh.

At the time of her report Elise was 3.5 years old. She was able to go up and down stairs herself, skip and stand on one foot. She could draw lines, knew big and small, could button and unbutton and wash her hands herself. She was said to be fond of imitating, listening to music and playing with toys. She had a ready smile and got along well with others. Her favorite activity was watching TV and her favorite toy was a rag doll.
