Finn was born in June 2009 and found abandoned when he was almost 6 years old. He was diagnosed with post-operative cleft lip and palate, and left hernia.
AGENCY DESIGNATED SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD
When Finn entered an institute it was noted that he had had an unsuccessful repair of his cleft palate and the remaining hold caused poor pronunciation. He could not talk but was able to make simple sounds. In April 2015 he was sent to a special school to study, and in October 2016 he was sent to a different orphanage who completed his adoption file 5 months later when he was 7.5 years old. He was described as being very naughty. Although he liked to talk, his pronunciation was very poor and people could’t understand him. Through time and teaching he learned to speak “mom,” but he didn’t like to study and couldn’t write his name.
Finn liked to play with peers and got along well with them. He liked to play on the slide in the yard, chase around and laugh all day. He liked to eat snacks and enjoyed milk and fruit. He could feed and dress himself and managed his own self care as well as helping caretakers with chores such as taking out the trash and cleaning tables. When asked if he would like to be adopted he nodded his head to indicate, “yes.”
