SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD RELEASED TO THE SHARED LIST

Maggie entered in institue in March 2014 and the caretakers liked her very much. It was reported that she didn’t speak but could listen and follow directions well. She was toilet trained and completed the task of using the bathroom better than other children. They also complimented how neatly and carefully she fed herself. Caretakers said she was lovely, cute and obedient. Maggie’s report states that the caretakers are more patient with her than other children due to her being weak.

At some point between entering her institute in March 2014 and her adoption report being written in October 2014, she began attending an infant and child class in the institute. She wasn’t able to recite poetry, do math or draw as other children were and caretakers considered her intelligence to be lower than her peers. Staff did express that she had a talent displayed through a strong sense of rhythm. When her teacher played music Maggie would dance and her happiness inspired other children to dance with her. Maggie could go up and down stairs without help, jump, skip, stand alone, draw lines, dress herself and manage some of her own self care. She was fond of reading picture books, playing games and got along with others well. Maggie was described as being easy going and having a ready smile. She was very thin and walked slowly but she was energetic. She enjoyed dancing and playing outside with other children. Caretakers said she is very brave and they hope she will be adopted in to a loving family.

AUGUST 2017 UPDATE BELOW:

Maggie could walk slowly, run for a short distance and jump a little. Her self care ability was average but her language ability was delayed. She couldn’t speak in whole sentences or ask questions but she could speak a few simple words. She was attending a preschool program within the orphanage but had no concept of numbers or colors. She still enjoyed music and danced whenever she heard it.
