Katie was born in July 2014 and found abandoned shortly after her birth.  She has been diagnosed with post-operative congenital cerebral meningocele, club feet and her right leg is longer than the left.

SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD RELEASED TO THE SHARED LIST

 

At the time of Katie’s report she was 13 months old and said to be gentle and bright.  She  got along well with other kids, liked being played with and would giggle.  She couldn’t walk or stand but was able to sit and crawl.

Although thought to be a smart girl who understood directions and facial expressions she wasn’t yet talking. She could pick up small objects with thumb and finger, turn pages of a book and stack blocks.  She liked to be cuddled but didn’t cry if caretakers were too busy.  She was said to be cute with a ready smile.

APRIL 2017 UPDATE BELOW: 

Katie likes to imitate adults, can say many simple words, and that she loves to sing, even though her speech isn’t always very clear. She wasn’t speaking in full sentences just yet.
