Michelle was born in April 2014 and found abandoned when she was about 2 months old. During her initial examination the doctor noted she had low muscular tension of limbs. She was diagnosed at that time with Cerebral Palsy and Pneumonia.

SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD RELEASED TO THE SHARED LIST

Her adoption file was completed when she was 11 months old and at that time she would smile when she was teased by her nannies, roll over and enjoyed playing with toys. Her favorites were rattles and plush toys. Her report states she has balanced nutrition, good development and spends time twice each day in an activity room.

NOVEMBER 2015 UPDATE BELOW:

A woman who visited Michelle’s orphanage was told she can  roll over, sit and stand with support. She is still learning to sit independently and is not receiving any therapy to help her development. There is a short video available for families who are reviewing her adoption file.

DECEMBER 2015 UPDATE BELOW:

Is Michelle able to sit alone?  She is not able to sit alone yet. But she can sit for a while with assistance. 

Has she started crawling?  Yes, she just started crawling. 

Is she pulling herself up to stand?   She kneels with assistance, but can not stand up yet. 

Will she walk with assistance (holding hands) of care giver?   No, she is not able to do yet. 

Is Michelle saying any words?  She makes some sounds, just burbling. 

   

If she has physical and / or mental delays compared to other children her age please describe.  Compare to other children her age, her physical development is good, mental development is a little delayed. Language, cognitive, gross and fine motor skill development is slow. 

Does she receive any therapy?  If so please describe.   Yes, she’s receiving therapy to train her limbs flexibility. 

Please describe her personality.   She is fairly active, she loves you play with her. 

What makes her happy and what does she enjoy playing with?   Play toys with her, hold her and talk with her, she’ll be happy. She loves rattles. 

Her updated measurements:  Height: 70cm; Weight: 9.5kg; Head: 45cm; Chest: 47cm; Teeth: 7; Foot: 10cm.
