Mia was born in August 2014 and found abandoned when she was about 2 months old. She has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome.

At the age of 1 year Mia could roll over and move her body forward a little. At the age of 1.5 years she was sensitive to familiar sounds and would smile happily. Her adoption report was completed when she was 26 months old. At that time it was reported that her development was delayed compared to peers. She could giggle if happy and liked waving toys that made sounds, such as bells. She was said to be sensitive, quiet and enjoyed hugs from her caretaker. She was not yet speaking. She could crawl on her hands and knees and her favorite activity was playing outdoors.
