Hailey

Hailey was born in May 2007 and found abandoned when she was one month old. She has been diagnosed with meningocele and chronic kidney disease.

Hailey is outgoing, communicative, optimistic, and polite. She loves to sing, dance, and draw. She is talkative and has many friends in school. Hailey likes to help others and often helps out in school. She has good manners and respects her teachers. Hailey hopes to be a teacher when she grows up. She does very well in school. Her favorite subject is literature. In many respects Hailey is an average 10 year old girl. She has great self-care ability, physical development, language skills, and intelligence.

   

Hailey received surgery to repair her spina bifida in 2007. In 2014 the doctors noticed that Hailey had difficulty urinating and it was found that she had bilateral hydronephrosis, which is when urine does not drain properly from the kidney into the bladder. She had a bladder catheter inserted that she continues to use. In August of 2016 Hailey was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. She takes medication and has a restricted diet to manage her condition.
