Oliver was born in March 2011 and completely stole my heart while I was in his orphanage.  This little boy has Down Syndrome and a partial left hand.  As the mother of a child with a similar limb difference I can tell you missing  a few fingers isn’t going to slow Oliver down at all!

SPECIAL FOCUS CHILD ON THE SHARED LIST

Just by spending a few hours with him I got the feeling he is a very bright and curious little boy.  He even tried to imitate me speaking English by repeating the word, “book.”

Oliver lives with a foster family and participates in one of Half The Sky’s Infant and Parenting programs.  His report says he is “extroverted, active and restless and energetic.  He likes to communicate with children and play games with children; his favorite activities are playing with blocks, balls and riding bike.  He can walk, can transfer positions when squatting, he can kick the football, go upstairs and downstairs with hands held.  He can build a tower of 4 blocks, can dismantle the toy and assemble it again.  He is very clever and can express his needs…can understand adult’s words, such as ‘give me,’ ‘welcome’ and ‘goodbye’ as well as respond to them.”  His favorite foods are rice, noodles, dumplings, bananas, watermelon and egg pie.

He clearly loved his teacher very much.

Please consider this precious child!  He is affectionate, smart and so worthy of the love of a family.
